FULL STACK DEVELOPER

ABOUT BASEBUILDER

We are an open and informal company. We have a young team with competent and highly motivated colleagues. Our lines of communication are short and opinions are valued, whether you are talking to a peer or to the CEO.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Experience: at least five years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or comparable
  • Level: Senior
  • Hours: 32-40 hours / week
  • Location: Utrecht, the Netherlands

Basebuilder is searching for a full stack developer to take our high-traffic campaign platform to the next level. On this platform, we run campaigns for clients such as Rituals, HEMA, Hunkemöller, Deichmann, Kaufland, Zeeman, NS, C&A, and Plus Supermarkets. These campaigns are seen by millions of customers worldwide each year.

Together, we’ll be creating custom campaigns for an international company with a modular campaign platform. To ensure success, we impose high standards on quality, scalability, usability, and reusability of the services.

As a full stack developer, you are comfortable working in front end, back end and infrastructure. All these aspects will be required for multiple projects such as building a new front end, based on microservices and service-contained architecture taken to the frontline.

We work in two-week sprints where results are processed during a supershort retrospective meeting. This stand up meeting takes place every day at 11:45 AM, just before we grab lunch.

ABOUT YOU

Your mind is the best tool you have. It allows you to think in abstract terms. In order to keep it sharp, you can attend informal meetups and conferences, and take part in online video training on occasion.

You are a PHP programmer by trade, but you like to experiment with other languages. New projects should not be started in a version of PHP older than version 7 and you have the know-how on how to migrate older legacy programs.

You know about design patterns and can see anti-patterns in existing code.

Your knowledge of relational databases is vast, but you also have a good knowledge of more specific datastores, e.g. key-value, document, or graph.

You embrace dockerization. You use containers for personal use and have experience or are keen to gain experience in enterprise orchestration of docker-based microservices.

WE OFFER

  • 10% time for side projects
  • Bonus (based on profit sharing)
  • Education budget for training, certification, and conferences
  • Travel expenses up to a maximum of EUR 390 per month
  • Option of working remotely
